About Me
As a signature member of both the nationally acclaimed American Watercolor Society and National Watercolor Society, my work has been featured in over fifteen major art publications including “The Artists Magazine”, “Splash” and five editions by “North Light Books”.
Realistic art is about the world we see each day in our daily lives, and whenever possible, I prefer to see the beauty in it. The portrayal of images and objects from my personal world, selected, and then created to evoke an aesthetic response in me and in others, is my goal. I believe it is my dedication to the study of light and its effects, a discriminating sense of composition, design and a contemporary viewpoint, that have formed my artistic signature.
In addition to working in watercolor, my large canvases are created using oils. All Buer fine art images are available in giclee form on canvas or paper. Each Buer giclee print is available sized-to-order, signed by me, and personalized, if requested. Since each individual print is a giclee original, my printer and I personally inspect each print and both sign an accompanying Certificate of Authenticity.
Barbara Buer’s love of flowers began as a child, growing up with a father who was a floral designer. She found herself following his footsteps and landed a position in a beautiful garden in southern England. It was there that she realized her passion was for painting flowers, not arranging them.
Buer paints in both watercolors and oils. (The two mediums are so completely different that sometimes she wonders how she can love them equally.) Through both, she portrays the world we see in our daily lives. Whenever possible, Buer prefers to see the beauty in it.
